Version 5 of Baxters Database of Violin Makers is now available. I know that you have collected many expensive reference works as part of your work with violins, violas, cellos and basses. Wouldn't it be nice to have much of that information in a single, easy to use, Database? I've been collecting Violin References for years. I know how frustrating it can be to have to go from book to book to find the basic information that you need. That's why I created the database - from over 33 references, plus internet data, and other sources.

 

Have you ever tried to find information about a maker when the label shows only the Firstname? Books are ogranized by Lastname! But with a database, you can search for a Firstname. Have you ever wondered who else worked in the same city as a maker you're researching? With books, it's a long search...with a database, it's easy.
